CABBAGE AVAREKAAYI GRAVY (PALYA)

INGREDIENTS: 1.1Cup Chopped Cabbage. 2.1Cup Cooked Avarekaay i 3.1Cup Grated Coconut. 4.2 Onions. 5.4Tsps Coriander Leaves. 6.1Tsp Cumin Seeds. 7.Haldi. 8.2Tsps Jaggery. 9.Salt to Taste. 10.Required Water. Seasoning: 2 Tsps Oil,1 Tsp Cumin Seeds,Hing,Curry Leaves. METHOD: 1.Heat Thick Bottomed Kadai.Put Seasoning. 2.Add Chopped Cabbage & Cook till it becomes Tender. 3.Pressure Cook the Avarekayee for 3 whistles. 4.When it cools,Mix with Cabbage by adding required water. 5.Grind 3,4,5,6,Ingredients into a smooth paste & add to the cooked vegetables. 6.Put Haldi,Jaggery & Salt to the mixture & boil thoroughly till the raw smell goes off. PS:THIS WILL GO WELL WITH POORI,CHAPATHIS & RAVA DOSA.

AVALAKKI HESARABELE BISI BELE BHATH (MOONG DAL-POHA BHATH)

INGREDIENTS: 1.2 Cups Avalakki(Poha). 2.1 Cup Moong Dal. 3.1 Cup Mixed Vegetables(Chopped Length wise.) 4.4-5 Tsps Tamarind Juice. 5.3-4 Tsps Jaggery. 6.4-5 Tsps Bisi Bele Bhath Powder OR     2 Tsps Sambar Powder/2 Tsps Rasam Powder. 7.Haldi. 8.Hing. 9.Salt to Taste. 10.4 Tsps Ghee. TADKA: 4-5 Tsps Oil,Hing,2Tsps Mustard Seeds,Curry Leaves,3-4 Pieces of Red Chilles. METHOD: 1.Pre heat Cooker,Put 2 Tsps of Oil & Fry Moong Dal & cook. 2.When its tender add chopped vegetables & pressure cook for 1-2 whistles. 3.Clean,Wash & Soak Poha for 5- 10 Minutes. 4.Put all the ingredients to the Dal one after the other & boil nicely by occasional stirring. 5.Add soaked Poha to it & boil nicely by putting seasoning.

VEGETABLE BISIBELE BHAT

INGREDIENTS: 1. 2 Cups Rice. 2. 1 Cup Toor Dal. 3. 1 Cup Mixed Vegetables Cut Length Wise. 4. 4-5 Tsps Imli Juice. 5. 2-3 Tsps Jaggery. 6. Salt to Taste. 7. 2-3 Tsps Bisi Bele Bhath Powder. 8. 2-3 Tsps Sambar powder. 9.Curry Leaves. 10. 4-5 Tsps Grated Cobra. 11.Tadka : 4 Tsps oil, Hing,Mustard Seeds,1Tsp Methi, Haldi,3-4 Red Chillies Pieces, Curry Patha. 12. 1:3 water & add more if required. METHOD: 1.Preheat cooker, put 2-4 Tsps oil, hing,haldi . 2.Add Dal,Washed rice , chopped vegetables with required water. 3. Keep stirring occasionally,when its tender ,add all the ingredients one after the other.  4.Keep stirring now & then by adding required water and pressure cook for 2-3 Whistles. 5.When cool,put Tadka & add to the bhath. 6.Garnish with little(2-3Tsps) of ghee.
